(Having just returned from Florence, it's strange to see him paraded as a favourite son, with almost no acknowledgment of his exile. More on blog linked above, but good grief, it was strange.)

Yes, the exiled son taken back by force. It is powerful alright. The Franciscans in Ravenna had to hide his bones because they were so worried the Florentines would steal them.
